M&A transactions 🎊Bio-Rad acquires Stilla Technologies for $225M to expand its digital PCR portfolio. The deal, which includes a potential $50M earnout, is expected to close in Q3 2025. LexisNexis Risk Solutions acquires IDVerse to enhance AI-powered identity verification and fraud detection. The deal strengthens global ID verification and anti-fraud capabilities. TSS acquires Dolist to strengthen its position in marketing automation. This marks TSS’s entry into the French email and SMS marketing sector. Dolist will maintain its autonomy while benefiting from TSS’s resources and expertise. Adwanted Group acquires Teeps to expand its digital audience activation capabilities. The move strengthens its AI-driven advertising solutions and supports international growth. Investor & accelerator news 🚀BOLD (L’Oréal’s venture fund) invests in BORNTOSTANDOUT’s Series A round, led by Touch Capital, to support its global expansion. The funding will accelerate the brand’s growth in Europe and the U.S. Builders Factory completes its first incubator program with a pitch competition featuring 12 startups. Founded by Foucauld de Thézy and Martin Cregut, the Paris-based incubator aims to support early-stage entrepreneurs. Startup news 💡AI startups revolutionize French agriculture as farms scale up and modernize. With 50% set to change hands by 2026, AI-driven solutions optimize efficiency and productivity. Brevo invests €50M in AI to enhance CRM personalization. The company also reports strong growth, reaching €179M ARR in 2024, and expands internationally. Mistral AI launches Mistral Saba, its first AI model specialized in regional languages. Designed for the Middle East and South Asia, it supports Arabic and Indian languages, excelling in conversational support and industry-specific expertise. Ÿnsect, the startup specializing in insect-based protein, is set to enter receivership after failing to secure investors during its safeguard procedure. Despite raising over €600M since 2011 with backing from Bpifrance and the French government, no takeover or investment offers were submitted before the February 17 deadline. Bumble shuts down Fruitz three years after acquiring it for $75M. The dating app struggled to integrate within the group, leading to its closure by mid-2025 as Bumble refocuses on its core platforms. Big company & policy news 💡French government launches "Je choisis la French Tech Académie" to help startups access public contracts. The free online training aims to simplify procurement processes for startups, which currently account for only 2.4% of state purchases. France Fintech, France Digitale, ADAN, and 12 other associations urge the government to maintain key innovation tax incentives. They warn that budget cuts to CIR, CII, and France 2030 could weaken France’s startup ecosystem. Fluidstack secures €10B agreement to build a supercomputer in France. The deal aligns with Macron’s €109B AI investment plan but raises concerns over the startup’s capacity. Fluidstack, backed by Cacti Ventures, is now seeking $100M-$200M in Series A funding to scale operations.
