In 2021, Apple significantly limited the amount of data mobile app developers could collect about users. This led to a sharp decline in the effectiveness of advertising campaigns that directed traffic directly to app pages.
That’s when an alternative solution emerged—web funnels, which are not subject to Apple’s restrictions. Instead of directing users straight to the app store, developers began creating campaigns that lead to landing pages, where users are converted into purchases before installing the app.
